Kohl Johnson

I grew up around the Sandhills of Nebraska.  My family and I lived 5 miles west of Smith Lake on a ranch until my Senior year in high school.  We then moved to another ranch by Gordon, NE where I graduated from high school.  I came to my faith around the age of nine.  I always felt a closeness to God, but I fell into worldly desires and into the party scene starting in high school and throughout my 20’s.  At no point did I feel like I lost my faith, but I did feel a great sense of shame for my sinful nature.  Thanks be to God for HIs Grace and Merch that my sins are washed away by Jesus’ sacrifice.

My hobbies are hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and home renovation projects.

I moved to Alliance in 2007 for a job opportunity and am currently still working there.  I married my wife Gracie in August 2009.  Our family grew in 2012 with the arrival of our daughter Charlotte, then again in 2016 with our son Sawyer.

We attended another church in Alliance for about 9 years and it never seemed like the right fit for our spiritual growth. We started attending the Alliance Berean Church in March 2017 and finally felt like we were home.  This church has helped me grow spiritually tenfold.  I am truly blessed with the spiritual gifts God has given me to serve in the church.  I currently serve on the worship team, security team, men’s ministry team, youth Club 3:16 team, design team, and now elder.  I look forward to continually serving God and glorifying His name.

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
